Thursday Night iPhone Photo – Dirty, Dirty Cutlery

It seems unnecessarily derogatory, but here’s how they insult spoons at Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream in San Francisco. I got the Gabba Gabba Hey sundae. Delicious, but no picture of that.

Thursday Night iPhone Photos – Yes, My Cat Watches the Red Sox

Sitting on my couch, working at home with the Red Sox game on the laptop and my cat Lucy on my lap.

Wednesday Night iPhone Pic – Edwards Stadium in Berkeley

Edwards Stadium at the University of California in Berkeley is art deco, but you can’t quite tell as so much of its 1932 origins is hidden away, like this side door that I came across. Fulton Street is just a few yards away, but trees block the view of the door.

Wednesday Night iPhone Photo – Defining Race

I crashed my bike last week, and by bike, I do not mean motorcycle. I mean bicycle, which I crashed soundly into the sidewalk.

The fall itself was embarrassing, but the fact that I am still recovering from my injuries that serves as another reminder of an aging body. Don’t get me wrong, the injuries are minor and I have little to complain about. I’m already able to open bottles of Kombucha again, and I can now shift gears on my car without yelping in pain. Little victories, little victories…

Tuesday Night iPhone Photos – Posts, Posts, Everywhere

I took another hike in the Palo Alto Baylands this past weekend, and took some puzzling photos of posts.

First there are these posts on a hill, like telephone poles cut down low, and I’m wondering what they’re for. It must have something to do with the municipal airport next door, right?

Wednesday Night iPhone Photo – Memorial Church

At Stanford University on Monday, outside Memorial Church, a man with an iPad tried to take a picture of me…or whatever was behind me. So I took a photo of him taking a photo of me.

Sunday Night iPhone Photo – For Service Push Button

My delicious lunch today at a Mexican restaurante in Berkeley was delayed because my car’s rear right tire blew out just about here on I-80. According to my phone, I was exactly two miles away from the restaurant as well as the friend whose arm is shown in this pic, rushing toward the glass of water like a landspeeder.

Tuesday Night iPhone Photo – Palo Alto

Another photo from my walk in the Palo Alto Baylands. And another apology for me not knowing photography! I mean, I do realize that much of the photo is in darkness, but I kind of enjoy the accidental results, with the sun, reflection, and shadows obscuring what is a view of Palo Alto beneath a Farmers Insurance blimp.

Friday Night iPhone Photo – Palo Alto Baylands

A friend and I went walking in the Palo Alto Baylands last weekend. It’s an odd space, partly a landfill, and still next to a dump, so you have to get past the smell in order to have a walk. It also adjoins the municipal airport where three Tesla workers died in a crash last year, tidal salt marshes, and a nature preserve. I would claim that my photo cleverly places the beautiful Bay in the far background as some sort of artistic comment, but I’m not a photographer, I just own an iPhone.

Wednesday Night iPhone Photo – Bread Pudding

At the diner, my friends and I all ordered the chocolate bread pudding.

Sunday Night iPhone Photo – Abandoned Christmas Trees

It’s a sign of the new season. Here are some of the Christmas trees at my apartment complex, left outside for trash collection.
