Tuesday Night Video – Lifeguard Gangnam Style

By now, Psy’s irresistibly compelling “Gangnam Style” video has been viewed over 148 million times on YouTube. A group of lifeguards in El Monte, California, made their own playful “Lifeguard Style” video, but were fired for doing so — because it’s apparently verboten to have fun in a public place. For the record, the lifeguards claim they made the video while off-duty. Not that it looks like anyone was in a need of a lifeguard while they were making it, as it looks like the premises are empty other than these fine young folk. Their trying to raise awareness on a Facebook page, and the case made Salon’s “Weird News” file.
