As mentioned on a recent Doug Loves Movies, here’s Alan Rickman drinking tea. Epically.
Reading the title I thought this post might be about Rickman’s epic role in Bob Roberts. Half Karl Rove, half Scooter Libby, half Oliver North, half sulfurous being…
“Excuse me, I have to go pray.”
I had totally forgotten that Rickman was in Bob Roberts! I don’t think I really knew who he was at the time. Of course, I don’t think I really understood the genius of Rickman until he played Snape.
Has it really been twenty years since Bob Roberts came out? Tim Robbins looks so young!
You probably knew Alan Rickman. He was Hans Gruber and then the Sheriff of Nottingham in Die Hard and Costner’s Robin Hood. I don’t know when I figured out they were all the same guy.
Jack Black looked like he was five years old.
I did not see Die Hard or Robin Hood when they first came out. I’ve since seen Die Hard and am waiting for hell to freeze over before seeing Robin Hood. I suspect that I saw Bob Roberts before I knew about Rickman’s roles in Die Hard and Robin Hood, as I first knew he was in those because they keep being used as pop culture references. Not so much his role in Bob Roberts.
