Romney Camp Racism

We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and [Mitt Romney] feels that the special relationship is special. The White House didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have.

Isn’t That Special?

Our great bond with Great Britain! None’s bigger.
We need Romney to bring back the vigor
Of that special rapport
He appreciates more
Than Obama, that uppity non-Anglo-Saxon.

Romney has distanced himself from the comment, but he himself, just two days ago, suggested Obama just ain’t one of us.

It’s a very strange and in some respects foreign to the American experience type of philosophy. … [Obama's] whole philosophy is an upside-down philosophy that does not comport with the American experience.

Lol. Romney is a moron. Why is he making such obvious gaffes?!?!?! Why has no one in his camp alerted him to the fact that he’s sounding like a fool? Oy.

There are times when I think the power Republicans don’t want to win this Presidential election, that they’re happy to control enough of congress to block any action, and to let the Dems take the blame for the result. Not to mention using “scarry” Obama as a fundraising tool. That would explain the heavy hitters sitting it out, and nobody putting enough pressure on any of them to change that. Then again, I thought when Bush I picked Dan Quayle that the Republicans had decided it would be wiser to let the Dems take control of the economy Reagan was leaving, and it didn’t prevent Bush from winning.

      • Blaria says:

Interesting. I could see that. It’s much more of a chess game and I forget that sometimes. It makes much more sense because I was always like, “I can’t believe that Romney is the nominee.”

  2. Elizabeth says:

Wow! But no surprise. In 2008 the main slur against him was that he was mysteriously, ominously “different.” Gee, what did that mean? And here we go again! We have to listen to this s*&^#*t till November.

  3. trosen76 says:

It was a face-palm moment. But as of yet it’s an unnamed source in a foreign paper, supposedly quoting someone in Romney’s foreign policy circle. Hopefully the paper elaborates..

    • Max says:

The advisor spoke anonymously, so there can’t be much elaboration. Evidently the advisor understood very well what the reaction would be, but was hoping to give “background” that would lead the reporter to spin the Britain trip favorably. Spoke anonymously in case the reporter decided instead to report the statement. Just speculation, but the most logical way I can think to explain what was said.

  4. gradycarter says:

Wow, that’s pretty “bold”… Is bold the right word?…

    • Max says:

Maybe “bald”? The racism showing? Though “Anglo-Saxon” is an attempt not to be so bald about it, I guess. More like a bad comb-over. The advisor spoke anonymously and Romney distanced himself, so nothing about the statement strikes me as particularly bold.

      • gradycarter says:

Hahaha, yeah… He isn’t exactly a bold candidate… I don’t hate Romney, and I actually try to like him, but politically it is Very hard for me to do…
