Thursday Night Throwback Ad – Practical Knowledge, November 1959

Boing Boing pointed me to this advertisement from Whisper Magazine (November, 1959). I’m sure that it was an illusion even at the time, but how strange it seems now — not that there were this particular mix of jobs and job training, but that there was a collective dream in the United States that a middle class (of white people, at least) could learn practical jobs which might make them a practical living.
