Monday Night Video – Jimmy Kimmel’s Father’s Day Prank

I’m not a big fan of pranks unless:
a) the target is not harmed, humiliated, or hurt (emotionally or otherwise), or…
b) the target deserves to be harmed, humiliated or hurt.

Jimmy Kimmel, on the contrary, is a big fan of pranks. Adam Carolla told a story on The Howard Stern Radio Show last week about how he Carolla accompanied Dixie Chick Natalie Maines to the Emmys as a non-romantic companion. Afterward, Kimmel tricked Carolla into thinking that Maines was stalking Carolla, which came to a head with Carolla calling and berating Maines for the many romantic overtures that she had not made.

Both Maines and Kimmelseem to have found this funny, and I’m hoping that all the participants in the following felt that way as well, although I think the guy at the end gets off easy by not having his face sprayed with the hose.

Metta World Peace: All Mouth, No Class

Metta World Peace, it’s becoming clear, chose that name for himself ironically. Last night, apparently in response to James Harden getting called for a foul late in game 3 of the NBA finals, he tweeted about Harden, “No brain. All beard.”

The Daily Show Discusses President Obama’s Kill List

Conservatives have a habit of attacking President Obama for actions and agenda items that do not exist, whether it’s lying about his place of birth (as they’re desperate to point out that he’s not a WASP) or his record on taxes (yes, Obama has provided significant tax cuts). One of the many unfortunate consequences of the Republican penchant for fantasy is that, when Obama does do something which deserves criticism, we do not have a loyal opposition there making the reasoned and rational case against him. Case in point: Obama’s Kill List.
