Thursday Night iPhone Photo – Dirty, Dirty Cutlery

It seems unnecessarily derogatory, but here’s how they insult spoons at Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream in San Francisco. I got the Gabba Gabba Hey sundae. Delicious, but no picture of that.

Gabba Gabba Hey Sundae! Oh, man, that sounds utterly righteous!
And the spoons thing reminds me of the Monty Python “Dirty Fork” sketch. “No apologies I can make can alter the fact that in our restaurant you have been given a dirty, filthy, smelly piece of cutlery…”
Holy shit, dude, I just looked that sundae up. Balsamic caramel ice cream?!?!? Ooooh, want! All I have near me is a lousy Carvel. Damn Fudgie the Whale cake will have to be good enough for me I guess… *grumble*
I should be kind and downplay it, but I have to say that their balsamic caramel ice cream is just as good as it sounds! I’ll be up in the city again tomorrow, and am now thinking I have to go back already.
You two have made me look up “balsamic.” Who knew there was such a thing as balsam? I thought “balsamic” was a term used to describe vinegar and it meant something like “hoity-toity.” (Maybe I wasn’t too far wrong about that, except for the vinegar part.)
If I lived anywhere near that place, I’d be there every damn day.
I haven’t thought about that sketch in ages! I think it was actually one of the first bits of Monty Python I ever saw. They’re all so young!
Still hilarious after all this time. And yes, they do look young. And, in Graham Chapman’s case, alive.
