Saturday Night Video – Melissa Harris-Perry Plays “Name That Campaign”

Conservatives this week showed their intellectual mettle for going after Obama for choosing the campaign slogan “Forward.” Apparently it was too close to Richard Nixon’s use of “Forward Together”? Or too Communist. It’s so hard to tell the difference. Today, Melissa Harris-Perry was joined by Karen Finney, Kai Wright, and Kathleen Hall Jamieson for a game of guessing which President was associated with which slogan, phrase or song.

1. He kept us out of war.

2. Happy days are here again.

3a. Vote yourself a farm.

3b. Don’t swap horses in the middle of the stream.

4. Not just peanuts.

5. Kinder, gentler nation.

6. Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow.

7. I like Ike.

8. Tippecanoe and Tyler too.

Video and answers after the jump.

1. Woodrow Wilson

2. Franklin D. Roosevelt

3. Abraham Lincoln

4. Jimmy Carter

5. George Herbert Walker Bush

6. Bill Clinton

7. Dwight D. Eisenhower

8. William Harrison
