This week Rush Limbaugh went on record that women who have sex are sluts. It’s rare for him to backtrack on his bile, which is why his statement

I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.

is being misunderstood as an actually apology, rather than what it is, which is a weasel’s claim that style is what counts here, and not substance.

MONDAY (Feb. 27, 2012)

Stephen Colbert deconstructed the campaigns of Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney as they battled over Michigan, including Romney’s “speech of a lifetime” at Detroit’s Ford Field.

Mitt really connected with those empty seats by also being plastic and uncomfortable.

Obama thinks everybody should go to college like he did. Well, pardon me, your highness, but some of us weren’t handed a ticket to Harvard by being the biracial son of a single mother on food stamps. Must be nice. Rick Santorum understands the real American Dream, that if you work hard enough, your children can have fewer opportunities than you did.

MONDAY (Feb. 27, 2012)

Jon Stewart began the week mocking Rick Santorum for acting as if sending children to college is an act of snobbery. Stewart did a pretty good Santorum impression, rephrasing Santorum’s sentiment into its essence:

Look who’s educating his children! I guess someone’s too good for not knowing things.

Senior Youth Correspondent Jessica Williams mocked Santorum in her own way, by agreeing with him.

I used to be a sweet innocent, church-going girl, who believed volcanoes happened when the devil has hiccups. Then I went to college and they exposed me to new ideas: literature, philosophy, something called sky-ence, and by the end of sophomore year, I was a black girl.
