Sunday Morning Whitney Houston Update

TMZ claims that Whitney was taking Xanax (although it won’t be known if she had some last night until today’s autopsy is concluded) and found underwater in her bathtub.

Here’s video from Whitney’s last public performance, the night before she passed away.

And here’s Tony Bennett from Saturday night, walking the carpet and praising Whitney Houston with the same words he sent out via Tweet.

Adding that Bennett is right when, at the Clive Davis pre-Grammys party that Whitney was due to attend, he said that drugs should be legalized. Obviously Whitney could afford rehab, but who knows whether she might have had a more successful and supported road to recovery in a society more serious about treating addiction. Our continued head-in-the-sand attack-drugs-with-police approach isn’t working.
