Wednesday Night iPhone Photo – Defining Race

I crashed my bike last week, and by bike, I do not mean motorcycle. I mean bicycle, which I crashed soundly into the sidewalk.

The fall itself was embarrassing, but the fact that I am still recovering from my injuries that serves as another reminder of an aging body. Don’t get me wrong, the injuries are minor and I have little to complain about. I’m already able to open bottles of Kombucha again, and I can now shift gears on my car without yelping in pain. Republicans Push For the Supremacy of Religious Law

Upcoming health care reforms will require health care plans to cover birth control…finally. While this is long overdue nationwide, it is not a new concept for many individual states.

In a conference call, Rep. Lois Capps, D-Calif., who said she spoke as a nurse, mother and grandmother, pointed out that 28 states have similar rules on coverage for birth control.

One of those states? Massachusetts, which had these regulations in place while Mitt Romney was governor.

The Republicans ignore two key points when they gin up outrage over the move to broaden access to health care.

Lohan’s Latest Pics

It’s been some time since I reported on my favorite tabloid girl, Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay never really g0es away, but she does fade in and out of focus. Her latest photos are by Terry Richardson (who recently shot Lady Gaga) and the new pictures are higher quality than Lohan’s Playboy photos.

When I say “higher quality,” I’m thinking simply in terms of making interesting photographs. For Playboy, Lohan just went through the motions, joining the parade of lackluster Marilyn Monroe imitations. Richardson is seedier, but purposefully so. It’s not a photo shoot for the ages, but again, it shows Lindsay Lohan working with a simpatico photographer.

Rep. John Fleming Tangles With Satire (Satire Wins)

Did you hear the one in which Louisiana Representative John Fleming read an article about Planned Parenthood building an Abortionplex? Rather than recognizing it as satire of the religious right’s skewed perception of the family planning clinic, he posted it as fact on his Facebook wall.
