I was fascinated by holiday specials as a child, because they seemed so…special. I knew about many of them but didn’t know when they aired or how to find out. We didn’t subscribe to TV Guide or own a VCR, but we did wind up seeing The Year Without a Santa Claus enough for me to remember Snow Miser and Heat Miser with great affection.

Doug Benson’s 12 Guests of Christmas

The latest podcast of Doug Loves Movies ties together several of my recent posts, in part because two of the twelve guests were Freaks and Geeks star Samm Levine and WTF’s host Marc Maron. It’s a special Christmas episode with additional players such as Jimmy Pardo, Brian Posehn, and Sarah Silverman. If you like the idea of  Hollywood comedians bantering with each other in an unscripted forum, then this might be a good episode to start listening to DLM. If that idea turns you off, then run very far away, as it’s a particularly long episode, due to the number of guests, all of whom are shown in this very white photo:
