Tuesday Night Video – Christmas on Community

Community is in trouble. NBC’s sitcom with the hipster sensibility has been left out of their midseason schedule, although The Onion AV Club lists Five Reasons Community Could See Season Four. TV By the Numbers reports that Community has been upgrade to “likely to be renewed.” Why? Because the other NBC shows are getting worse, faster.

Community practices meta comedy, with individual episodes commenting on other genres. Sometimes this is clunky and mediocre, because we can see the seams showing. At other times it works well, such as their over-the-top paintball thrillers or this year’s Xmas episode, a Glee/horror film combo available on Hulu.
