Louis CK: Live at the Beacon Theater
December 15, 2011 3 Comments
Louis CK is one of the most innovative comedians out there today, at the forefront of both cutting-edge and mainstream comedy. His show Louis is like Curb Your Enthusiasm without all the sweetness. It’s unadulterated comedy, which means that it is both sharply funny and deeply painful.

This week Louis also put himself at the forefront of tech and new media issues. Louis already edits his TV show himself, on his laptop. Now he has done the same with his latest stand-up comedy special and is selling it for the ultra low price of five dollars and, most refreshingly, without Digital Rights Management restrictions.
The special is for sale on his web site: Louis CK: Live at the Beacon Theater. Dollar for dollar, it’s got to be the best comedy deal out there.
The response has been amazing:
As of Today, we’ve sold over 110,000 copies for a total of over $500,000.
Don’t underestimate how many people who pirate media do so because they feel that the corporate media is gouging them with high prices and ridiculous restrictions. Really, the DVDs we’re buying this holiday season still will only play in certain regions of the world? Go get yourself some Louis instead.
